Sounds like a classic hardware flake. My old desktop did that when the power supply was dying. Some parts just get weird before they fully go.

Okay but that's not a curse, that's just how old computers act sometimes. My old laptop did the exact same thing for months. It was just a worn out power button that needed a couple tries to make a good connection. Or maybe the battery was going bad and needed a minute to wake up. Tech has weird little habits, not magic.
