Watched a guy in Morgan City skip the pre-dive check on his hat, never doing that again
Was working a shallow job down in Morgan City last year and this diver next to me rushed his hat check because the supervisor was pushing us to get wet before the tide turned. About 10 minutes in he started getting water in the helmet and had to bail out fast, turned out the exhaust valve was never seated right. Since then I do my own full check every single time no matter how hard anyone pushes. Anyone else had a close call that made you slow down your own routine?
