Old guy at the dive shop told me to always double-bag my drysuit zipper lube and he was right
I ignored him for a year and after a deep dive in 42 degree water off Anacortes my zipper froze up solid on the boat deck, took me 20 minutes to get out and now I lube twice every time, anyone else had a zipper seize on a cold day?

Double down on that advice, seriously. I started hitting mine with a silicone spray _and_ a heavier grease before cold dives and haven't had a freeze-up since.

Hold on a second though. Silicone spray and heavy grease might be fighting each other under there. Silicone spray dries out fast and can actually trap moisture if you put grease on top of it. I learned that the hard way when my zipper got all crusty and sticky after mixing two different lubes. Better to just pick one good zipper wax and stick with it, maybe add a thin coat of silicone lube first but let it fully dry before you even think about the grease. Freeze ups are real though, nobody wants to be that guy sweating on the deck trying to pop a frozen zipper.
