Just read that the average offshore saturation diver works a 28-day shift

Found it in a 2022 industry report from the Association of Diving Contractors. Does anyone actually LIKE being down there that long, or is it just for the money?

Holy cow, 28 days straight UNDERWATER? That is not a shift, that is a prison sentence with extra water pressure. I cannot even imagine the mind games. You are in a tiny tube, it is dark, and you cannot just pop out for fresh air. That HAS to be purely for the crazy money they make. Nobody dreams of living in a metal can for a month.

My buddy did a two-week dive once and came back talking to his coffee maker.
