Got tangled in my own umbilical at 30 feet outside Key West last month
Was doing a simple hull inspection on a charter boat. Current was mild, viz was decent. Somehow I managed to loop my umbilical around a through-hull fitting while backing up to look at the prop. Couldn't reach the release, had to call my tender to come pull me free. Felt like a complete rookie. Has anyone else had a brain fart moment like that where you just tie yourself up in knots for no good reason?

Tied my reg hose around a ladder rung once, felt just as dumb.
