Found out the first commercial diving school opened way earlier than I thought
I was reading an old industry magazine online and saw that the first proper commercial diving school in the U.S. started in 1968, over 50 years ago. I always figured formal training was a much newer thing than that. Has anyone else come across other surprising bits of diving history?

I mean, 1968 isn't that crazy early for a trade school, lol. People were building bridges and ships way before that, so they had to learn somewhere. Just seems like a normal timeline to me.

Yeah I just sorta learned on the job myself back when I started. Picked up most of what I know from watching older guys and making a bunch of mistakes.
