Foreman on a bridge job told me to quit wearing my drysuit for warm water
Guy said I was wasting time and being a princess for suiting up in 72 degree water on the James River. Next day he got stung by a jellyfish on his forearm and spent an hour cussing on the barge. Anybody else get bad advice from old heads and just nod along?

The old timers will always give you grief about gear. I had a foreman tell me to ditch my gloves on a cold water job once because it was "slowing me down." I kept wearing them anyway and just said "yes sir" when he walked by. Turned out he got a bad cut from some rusty rebar later that week and was out for a month with an infection. My hands stayed warm and clean. Sometimes you just have to nod and do what keeps you safe. Did you keep suiting up after that jellyfish incident?

Oh that jellyfish got what was coming to him, sounds like karma showed up with a wet suit of its own. Nodding along is my specialty, I can nod so convincingly people think I agree with them even when I am mentally picking out my drysuit color for the next day. Must be why my husband still thinks I love his brother's meatloaf after all these years.
