That overhyped Silver Age Superman run I finally read was actually worth the hype
Always figured people were just nostalgic for their grandpa's comics. Picked up a beat up copy of Action Comics #242 at a shop in Portland for $8 and read it on a slow afternoon. The way Superman tricks Brainiac by hiding a green kryptonite ring on his ship? That was legit clever writing. Not just punchy punchy. Got me to track down like 30 more issues from that era. Anyone else find a classic arc that surprised you after writing it off?

Is it still readable? Even with some wear, that book is worth a lot more than eight bucks. Good find.
