Switched from reading single issues to trades last year and it changed my whole vibe

I used to hit up my LCS every Wednesday and spend like $40-50 on random floppies that piled up fast, but after moving to a smaller apartment in Brooklyn I realized I had no shelf space and kept losing story threads. Now I just wait for the trade paperback collections and read the whole arc in one sitting, anyone else find they enjoy the stories more that way?

...and that's exactly why I stopped buying single issues too, but for me it was a busted water pipe that did it. Came home to find a stack of floppies soaking wet, all warped and stuck together, everything from Hawkeye to Saga just ruined. After that I said forget it, trades are the way. Plus now I can read something like Descender start to finish without waiting months and forgetting who the little robot kid even is. Feels like a proper book instead of a TV show chopped up by commercials.

Man, that's rough. I had a similar thing happen with a backpack full of floppies at a convention, got caught in a downpour and everything was just a soggy mess. Totally feel you on the trades, it's so much easier to actually enjoy the story without all that hassle.
