Saw a grown man argue about Batman for 20 minutes at a con last Saturday
I was at Denver Fan Expo just browsing the artist alley when this guy in his 40s started yelling at a vendor because he thought the vendor's Batman drawing had the wrong cape length. He went on about it for 20 minutes while a line formed behind him. The vendor just stood there looking tired. I walked away thinking some fans take this stuff way too seriously. Has anyone else had to step away from a con argument to keep your own sanity?

Denver Fan Expo had a guy in a Deadpool costume screaming at a teenager last year because the kid's homemade Harley Quinn cosplay had the wrong baseball bat. I counted 12 minutes before a staff member finally showed up and the guy just switched to arguing with them instead. These people need a hobby that isn't just gatekeeping other people's hobbies, lol. Honestly, the vendor probably heard that cape complaint 400 times that weekend alone. I'm convinced some con attendees treat artist alley like it's a courtroom and they're the judge.

Treat artist alley like it's a courtroom" is the most accurate thing I've read all week. I've seen dudes argue with vendors over a $5 print like they're cross-examining a witness, and it's just sad. In my experience, the loudest gatekeepers have never actually made anything themselves.
