PSA: That $50 omnibus I snagged off eBay was a total scam - pages fell out on first read
I spent $50 on a used X-Men omnibus from a seller with good ratings and the binding cracked on page 20. The glue was completely dried out and about 30 pages just slid out. Has anyone else had luck reselling damaged books to local comic shops or am I stuck with this paperweight?

So you paid $50 for a book that basically said "plot twist: I fall apart at page 20"? That's rough. Honestly, hot glue gunning it might be your best bet at this point, way better than trying to pawn it off to a local shop for like $5 and a sad look from the owner. I'd try the glue gun trick first but maybe practice on a trash book so you don't accidentally turn your X-Men into a melted mess. If it still flops, at least you'll have a cool paperweight that looks like it survived a Sentinel attack.

Funny enough I actually saw a post on another forum last week where a guy fixed his busted omnibus by using a hot glue gun on the spine. He said you gotta be careful not to melt the pages though lol. Might be worth trying before you give up on it completely. Local shops around here are picky about damaged books, they usually offer like 10 bucks store credit if that. The binding on those thick omnis is always a gamble especially with older printings.
