My buddy at the comic shop was right about variant covers being a trap
He told me last year not to chase every foil cover that drops, and I laughed it off. Well, 60 bucks later on a Batman #135 variant that's now worth $8, I guess he was right. Anyone else get burned by the variant hype?

Man, I feel this in my bones. I dropped like 40 bucks on a foil cover of Amazing Spider-Man #1 a few years ago thinking it was gonna be a big deal. Now it's sitting in a box with all my other "collector's special" books that nobody wants. The hype train is real and it's easy to get caught up in the moment when you see that shiny new variant. But honestly, most of these foil covers are just the comic shop trying to move extra copies. Your buddy gave you solid advice, I wish I had listened to someone back then too.

Ugh, that stings man. Sorry you got burned on that one too, it's so easy to get sucked into the hype when a cover looks cool. Definitely a bummer seeing that sitting in a box knowing it's not worth what you paid.
