Just hit issue 1000 in my collection and it felt weirdly emotional
I realized after 15 years of digging through dollar bins and garage sales that I had exactly 1,000 floppies last week, but what got me wasn't the number itself, it was remembering the first one I bought for $1 at a flea market in Tulsa and how that kid would probably lose his mind if he saw this pile now, anyone else ever get sentimental about a random milestone like that?

Always write the purchase date and location on the inside cover if you can remember it. Ten years from now you'll be glad you did when you're trying to remember which dollar bin that random sub-100 issue came from.

Oh man, that's a great milestone! But I gotta gently push back on calling them "floppies" (old habit from my early collecting days, sorry). "Floppies" usually refers to those old floppy disks, not comic books. But I know what you mean, it's a whole different thing. I remember hitting 500 issues and realizing half of them were from dollar bins, and yeah, it's weirdly emotional because each one has a story attached. That kid in Tulsa would probably be proud, not just of the number but the time and love you put into it.
