Finally changed my mind about reading digital comics
I was dead set on paper only for 8 years until my dog chewed up the first issue of a 12-part series I was collecting. It took me over 3 hours to realize I could just buy the digital copy and have it instantly instead of hunting down a replacement at shops. Has anyone else had a pet ruin a comic and just switch formats out of frustration?

My cat once threw up on a signed variant cover and that's when I realized paying extra for a signature is just paying for cat vomit with extra steps.

Yeah but what was the real breaking point for you though? Was it actually the dog chewing it up or was it more about the convenience factor finally hitting you? Because I had a similar thing happen with a water bottle leak ruining about 8 issues in a short box and I kept telling myself I'd just buy replacements at cons or online shops. But honestly it was the second time it happened that made me realize I was just being stubborn about paper for no good reason. Digital comics load up in seconds and I can zoom in on the art without worrying about damaging the spine or getting fingerprints on the page. So you had the dog incident and then what, you bought that one digital copy and felt kinda stupid for not doing it sooner?

Wait, is this really that deep though lol. I get being annoyed when a pet ruins something you spent money on, but switching whole formats over it feels kinda dramatic. Like you could just buy another physical copy off eBay for a few bucks and move on with your life. Maybe I'm just not that attached to my comics, but I've had pages tear, coffee spills, even a kid doodle on a cover with crayon and I just tossed it or kept reading. Digital's fine and all, but acting like a dog chewing one issue is this huge life revelation seems like overthinking it to me. What happened to just being mad for ten minutes and getting over it?
