PSA: do not sign up for the 8am statistics lecture just because your roommate says the professor is easy
So last semester my roommate kept telling me to take stats at 8am with this one professor because he gives out study guides that are basically the test. I signed up, rolled out of bed at 7:45 every Tuesday and Thursday for 14 weeks, and showed up to the first exam with my coffee shaking in my hand. Turns out the professor had a heart attack over winter break and they replaced him with a guy who gives zero study guides and cold calls people by name. I sat there in the second row, half asleep, while this new professor asked me to explain standard deviation to 80 people at 8:12 in the morning. My roommate dropped the class in week two and I was stuck because it was the only section that fit my schedule. Ended up with a C minus and a new rule about never trusting a class rec without checking the professor on Rate My Professors first. Anyone else get burned by a last minute professor swap mid semester? How did you handle it?
