Finally realized why my study notes were useless after 2 years
I spent all of freshman year and most of sophomore year rewriting textbook chapters into long outlines, thinking more words meant better grades. Last week in my psych 210 class, the TA glanced at my notebook during a group activity and said, "you're transcribing, not processing," and it hit me like a brick. Now I'm trying the question-based method where I turn every heading into a question, but I keep slipping back into old habits. Has anyone else made a similar switch mid-degree, and how long did it take to actually stick?

Oh, that TA nailed it, didn't they? So when you do catch yourself slipping back into outlining, what exactly triggers it, is it the comfort of just copying words down or something else?
