Was against online coding bootcamps until a friend finished one in 6 months
I always thought bootcamps were a scam, but my buddy in Austin did one and landed a junior dev job at a startup. He showed me his first pull request 3 weeks in, and it was actually decent code. Has anyone else had their mind changed by watching someone go through one?

Grant had it right, the career support is the difference. My cousin went through one last year after getting laid off from a retail job, and the bootcamp had a guy whose whole job was getting grads interviews. He went from zero coding experience to getting hired at a health tech company in 5 months. I saw his first few projects and they were rough, but by month 4 he was building stuff that actually worked. The structured timeline and constant pressure to ship code made him learn way faster than if he'd just been watching YouTube tutorials on his own.
