Paid $60 for a Python course, regretted it immediately
Signed up for a Udemy Python beginner course last Tuesday because the coupon made it look like a steal. The first hour was just the instructor reading slides and I realized YouTube tutorials had already taught me the same stuff for free. I should have asked around here first before pulling out my card. Anyone else burned cash on a course that was just fluff?

Hold off on calling it a total loss. I've bought a few Udemy courses that started slow but had GOLD hidden in the later modules, especially the project sections. That first hour of slides is often just the instructor warming up, and some people are TERRIBLE at pacing themselves for video. Maybe skip ahead to the parts where they actually build something, like a calculator or a to-do list, and see if that changes your mind. If it's still all talk and no code, then yeah, you got burned, but sixty bucks is also cheap for a structured path when you're stuck on what to learn next. Give it one more shot with the fast-forward button before you trash it.
