Found out most coding bootcamps have a 30% graduation rate and it made me rethink everything

I was all set to drop $12k on this 12 week bootcamp until I read a report from Course Report that said 70% of students quit before finishing. That stat blew my mind. I figured if most people can't make it through, maybe self teaching at my own pace with free resources like FreeCodeCamp is a better bet for me. Has anyone here actually finished a bootcamp and felt it was worth the money?

70% quitting before finishing is INSANE, I had no idea the dropout rate was that high. That makes the cost seem like a huge gamble for something most people don't even complete.

My neighbor spent $14k on a bootcamp and dropped out after two weeks because she realized she hated coding and just wanted to work with plants instead. Now she runs a small succulent business from her garage.
