Broke past 1000 commits on my first real project and it caught me off guard

I started this little weather app back in February just to learn Python basics. Yesterday I checked and saw 1,047 commits total, which felt insane for something that barely has 3 screens. Did hitting that number make anyone else stop and think about how far you've come?

Man, that hit me weird when I was working on a dumb to-do list app back in May (still not finished btw). Looked at the commit log and realized I'd basically rewritten the whole thing three times trying to make it "perfect." Sometimes those numbers just sneak up on you, especially when you're just messing around.

Hang on, @mason283, was it the total number of commits that got you, or realizing how many days had passed since you first started? I bet that log looked like a year's worth of work for what should have been a weekend project. I've done that same thing, staring at a git history and feeling like I blinked and a whole season went by. Makes you wonder if chasing "perfect" is just a way to avoid finishing something and calling it good enough.
