TIL spending $40 on a quality edge finder was a total game changer for me

I was running cheap knockoff edge finders for years and kept getting inconsistent edge picks. Picked up a Mitutoyo at a tool auction last month and my setups have been way more reliable. Anyone else notice how much a simple tool upgrade can speed up your workflow?

Is it really that big of a difference though? I've been using a cheap import edge finder for like three years and it's been fine. Maybe I'm just not that picky about a couple thousandths for most jobs.

Ha @ray_webb6, read somewhere imports can be off by 0.005" or more from the factory.
