TIL I was loading tools into the carousel backwards for 3 years

So I've been at this shop in Cleveland since 2019 and I always put my tools in the carousel with the shank facing out. That's just how the guy who trained me did it. Last month a new hire fresh out of trade school looked at my setup and asked why I was doing it that way. Turns out you're supposed to load them with the tip out so the changer arm doesn't have to twist around. Felt like an idiot but it sped up my cycle times by maybe 15 percent. Anyone else have a "wait I've been doing this wrong" moment that made you rethink your whole process?
