DAE have a tool offset bite them on a Monday morning run
Had a rough one on the Haas TM-2 in the shop Monday around 7am, first part of a 40 piece run. I fat-fingered a tool offset by 0.015 and didn't catch it until the finish pass, so the first part came out with a shoulder .030 undersize. I hit feed hold, rechecked the numbers, fixed the offset and re-ran the setup piece, but I still scrapped that one part and burned almost an hour. Our lead said 'check the numbers twice, cut once' and I just nodded. What do you all do to catch a bad offset before the first part gets cut, or do you just eat one and move on?
