Can we talk about how coolant mist is just accepted as normal?
Overheard a guy at the local weld supply shop saying he just breathes in the mist all day cause "it's part of the job." Man, I ran a shop in Detroit for 8 years and switched to a dry machining setup for most of my aluminum work. Mist collectors aren't that expensive compared to what lung problems will cost you down the road. Anyone else make the switch away from flood coolant?

My brother in law works in a fab shop and his doctor told him he's got the beginnings of some lung scarring already at 35. He's only been doing it 12 years. Scary stuff.

A buddy of mine ran a manual lathe for years and thought coughing up crap every night was normal. His doctor found precancerous spots in his lungs at 48, and he retired early on disability.
