Swapped to a programmable thermostat and saw my electric bill drop $18 in one month

I switched out my old dial thermostat for a $30 programmable one from Home Depot last month. It automatically turns the heat down while I'm at work and warms up right before I get home. Anyone else notice a quick change in their bills after making this switch?

My smart thermostat was a game changer too. I set mine to drop to 62 at night and while I'm at work, and it kicks back up to 68 about 30 min before I get home. That alone cut my bill by like $25 the first month. Also found out my old thermostat had a bad sensor so it was running way more than it needed to, which was a nice bonus. The scheduling feature is honestly the best part, especially for weekends when I'm out all day doing stuff.

My Ecobee paid for itself in 3 months. I live in a 1500 sq ft house. The savings was about $22 a month at first. I also set a schedule for weekends so it stays cooler while I'm out running errands. It's crazy how much those little adjustments add up.
