Put solar panels on my garage roof last spring and it finally paid off
I dropped about $3,200 on a small 2.4 kW setup back in April. My electric bill dropped from $110 a month to around $30 during the summer months. It took about 7 months to break even on the upfront cost. Plus I got a small tax credit that covered about 20% of the total. Anybody else tried a smaller solar install instead of going all-in on a full house system?

Went with a 1.5 kW system myself, cut my bill in half within six months.

Woah, that's a solid drop in your bill! I think people sleep on how much a smaller system like that can actually do if your usage is already low. The real trick nobody talks about is pairing it with a timer so you run your big appliances during peak sun hours. Like, if you're not home, that extra power just gets sent back to the grid for pennies. You gotta use that free energy while it's flowing, not just hope the meter spins backwards.
