My smart thermostat has been lying to me about the schedule for 8 months

I caught it yesterday when I got home early and the AC was blasting at 2pm despite the app showing 'eco mode' active, and it turns out the motion sensor in the hallway was blocked by a pile of boxes I put there in January, has anyone else's setup silently failed like this?

That's the thing, these smart devices only know what you let them see, so a pile of boxes turns into a lie. Your thermostat wasn't being sneaky, it was just working with bad info, and that's the same reason my phone's "battery health" said 90% right before it died.
