Switched to a digital meat thermometer after 10 years of guessing and my chicken thighs came out perfect every time since
I finally grabbed a Thermapen on sale for $35 after burning through a pack of cheap probe ones from the grocery store and I feel like an idiot for not doing it sooner, anyone else hold onto old gear way too long?

Rich buddy of mine cooked dry chicken for 15 years before his wife bought him a Thermapen.

Did you end up getting the Thermapen or one of the cheaper ones? I held onto this old analog instant read for years because it was my dad's, and switching to a digital one made such a difference, especially with chicken thighs. It's funny how something so simple can save you so many dried out dinners.
