Hit my 1000th clean kitchen milestone this week and it felt weird

I finally racked up my 1000th restaurant kitchen cleaning gig after 4 years of running my own business. It was a greasy hood filter job at a diner in Cleveland, nothing fancy, but somehow that number made me stop and think about all the burnt pans I've scrubbed. Has anyone else hit a random milestone that caught you off guard?

I get that hitting 1000 is a big number, but it's just a number. Cleaning 1000 kitchens doesn't make that last greasy hood filter any different from the first one. You're still scrubbing the same burnt-on grime. The milestone only feels weird because you're putting meaning on a count that doesn't change what the work actually is. It's still just scrubbing pans and filters at the end of the day.
