Hit 150 covers solo on a Saturday and almost walked out mid-service
Last weekend we got slammed at the last minute, and I ended up running the line alone for 150 covers because my sous called in sick and the owner couldn't find a replacement. I was so buried in tickets I didn't even realize I hit that number until I saw the printed report at closing time. Has anyone else had a shift where you just had to push through and later realized you did way more than you thought you could handle?

You mentioned "the printed report at closing time," but most modern POS systems don't generate a printed report automatically anymore - you usually have to pull one up on screen or run it manually. Don't worry, it's a small detail. That's still an incredible amount of work for one person, especially on a Saturday night.

Six months ago I would've argued that printed reports were standard. But you're right, I see way more places just pulling it up on a tablet or phone screen these days. This actually made me reconsider how I think about restaurant tech.
