We were slammed last Friday, and a new guy just said, 'Your station looks like a diagram from the textbook.' He meant it as a compliment, but it made me think I might be too rigid. Anyone else ever feel like perfect setup can slow you down when the tickets are flying?

Oh man, that's a classic compliment that stings a little. I've been there, where someone calls your prep "perfect" and it feels like they're saying you're playing it too safe. A clean station is great for morale and finding stuff fast, but if you're spending too much time making it look like a photo shoot instead of just grabbing and going, it can definitely bite you during the rush. Maybe it's less about being rigid and more about finding that sweet spot between organized and functional.
