Unpopular opinion: the $1.50 banh mi cart behind the laundromat on 8th beats every $12 sandwich in town
I walked past this little cart behind the laundromat on 8th St for 4 months before I finally stopped, mostly because it always had like 6 guys in work boots lined up at 11am. Turns out the woman running it does a grilled pork banh mi for $1.50 and it's stupid good, crunchy pickled carrot, fresh jalapeno, and she piles on the cilantro. I've since been back 9 times and I'm not even embarrassed about it, the guy at the register knows my order now. Honestly I could eat this 5 days a week and still not get sick of it. What's the cheapest hidden spot in your town that nobody talks about?
