The $3 bahn mi spot on 8th used to pile it so high I couldn't close the box
I hit the same little counter on 8th street every Friday for four years and the pork banh mi was $3 even, stacked so tall the lid never sat flat. Went back last week after two years away and it's $7.50 now with maybe half the meat, and the lady behind the counter just shrugged and pointed at a menu taped over the old one. Is it just my town or did everyone's favorite cheap spot quietly turn into a regular priced spot?
