Vent: Took me 4 hours to fix a loose power connector on my old Dell

My desktop kept randomly shutting down and I thought the PSU was dead. Turned out the 24-pin plug was just barely seated because one of the plastic tabs broke off. Anyone else spend way too long chasing a simple problem like this?

That's brutal but also super relatable. @the_dylan I've definitely been there with the loose cable thing, it's always the dumbest stuff that takes forever to find. My personal classic was spending three hours swapping out a perfectly good graphics card because the monitor cable was plugged into the motherboard instead of the GPU. Took me a full afternoon and a Reddit post to figure out the issue was literally just me being a goof. The worst part was I even re-seated the power cables on the old card twice before I realized the real problem. At least you got it fixed eventually, which is more than I can say for that afternoon I wasted.

You ever sit there staring at a part you just yanked out, wondering how you missed the obvious... Four hours is rough though. I once spent a whole afternoon troubleshooting why a monitor wouldn't wake up, only to find the power cable was barely touching the outlet. I felt like a real genius when I finally just pushed it in all the way. The best part was telling my buddies about it the next day, they still give me crap about it.
