Update: fixed a dead laptop in a Rockford library with a $1.25 eraser from the front desk
Two weeks ago my ThinkPad died mid-charge on the library table in Rockford and instead of paying the $85 shop quote I pulled the RAM stick, rubbed the gold contacts for a minute with a pencil eraser and it booted right up, so has anyone else had a cheap eraser fix something a shop tried to charge them for?
