TIL a Chromebook charger works fine on my old laptop if the wattage is close enough
I was about to drop $60 on a new power brick at Best Buy when a guy in line told me to just try my kid's Chromebook charger first. Saved me the cash and it's been running fine for 2 weeks now. Anyone else using mismatched chargers long term or am I playing with fire here?
What's next, borrowing your neighbor's leaf blower to dry your hair? Because that's basically the logic here. Chargers are not just about wattage, the voltage and plug shape have to match too, so you got lucky that your kid's brick happens to line up with your laptop. It'll probably keep working, but I'd keep an eye on how hot that thing gets while it's charging.
