TIL a $3 tube of thermal paste saved my old laptop from the trash bin
My ThinkPad was hitting 95C and shutting down every 20 minutes until I popped the heatsink off and found the factory paste was basically chalk. Now it idles at 45C, so has anyone else resurrected a "dead" machine with just a cleanup and a repaste?
