Swapped out my thermal paste with toothpaste after a YouTube video and it actually worked for 3 days
My old HP laptop was hitting 95C just browsing Chrome last Tuesday. I was out of Arctic Silver and saw some guy online swear by Colgate as a temporary fix. Figured what the heck, it's a $200 laptop from 2015. It dropped temps to 78C for three whole days before it started creeping back up. Not saying it's a long term fix, but if you're stuck and broke until payday it might hold. Anyone tried other weird DIY thermal paste substitutes?
