My power supply fan swap took 4 hours for a 10 minute job
My old Antec power supply fan started grinding super loud so I figured I'd just replace the fan myself for like $8 instead of getting a whole new unit. But when I opened it up, the connector was glued down with this weird rubber cement that took forever to scrape off without damaging the PCB. Has anyone else run into glued components when trying to do cheap repairs on older gear?

Man I feel your pain, I once spent a whole Sunday trying to swap a fan in an old Seasonic unit because the screws were basically rusted and fused together. Ended up having to drill them out which was a NIGHTMARE, probably took me like 6 hours total for what shouldve been 15 minutes.

I mean is it really that serious though, it's just a power supply fan not brain surgery.
