My $6 eBay fan beat the $25 one from Best Buy and I'm still confused

My old desktop was running hot and shutting down during games, so I grabbed a $25 fan from Best Buy and it lasted about 3 weeks. Then I found a $6 fan on eBay with the same size and higher RPM, and it's been running cool for 4 months. I checked the specs after and the cheap one had a bigger bearing and more blades. So what's the catch with these no-name fans, are they just as good or did I get lucky?
