I revived a dead power supply with a hair dryer last night
My old desktop wouldn't turn on and I figured the power supply was toast after 8 years. On a whim I pulled it out and hit the fan area with a hair dryer on low for two minutes to blow out any moisture or dust. Now it works fine, so did I just get lucky or is this a real trick for dried out capacitors?

Pulled the same move on my old microwave the other day. Actually pointed a heat gun at its control board for a solid 30 seconds and it suddenly beeped back to life. Half expected it to explode and take my eyebrows with it honestly. How long did your PSU stay running after the hair dryer treatment?
