Why does nobody talk about how heavy carpet rolls actually are

I found out yesterday that a standard 12 foot wide roll of commercial carpet weighs around 200 pounds. I was loading one into a job site in Austin and almost threw my back out. Looked it up on the manufacturer's spec sheet after I got home. Has anyone else ever checked the actual weight before hauling?

The glue weight sneaks up on you too. A 5 gallon bucket of commercial adhesive can add another 60-70 pounds to the load. Best trick I learned is to bring a hand truck with pneumatic tires instead of those hard plastic wheels. They roll way easier on concrete and save your lower back. Also never try to lift one solo even if you think you're tough enough. Have you ever tried using a carpet dolly with the strap to keep the roll from shifting?

Totally feel you on that, and @fiona_scott44 is right about those pneumatic tires being a lifesaver.

Did the spec sheet mention anything about the glue weight too?
