Put down $300 on a power stretcher with a real metal handle and it paid for itself in three days on one commercial job.
The cheap one I got from the hardware store kept slipping on tight loops and cost me twice the time, has anyone else found that cheap stretchers wreck your knees after a few runs?

Jump on the cheap stretcher train and you'll feel it in your lower back and hips too, not just your knees. I borrowed a buddy's aluminum handled one for a hallway and by the end of the day my right knee was shot and my left hip was popping. The difference with a solid metal stretcher is you can get a good bite on the carpet without having to lean all your weight into it and twist your body weird. Honestly, that $300 is just the price of not hurting yourself over time.

Cheap stretchers just work fine if you know how to use them right, @joelsanchez.
