Pulled up 400 yards of cheap 8lb pad in Tulsa and swapped it for 6lb rebond, the difference on the stairs alone sold me
Last month I did two back to back jobs in Tulsa with the same carpet and different pad. The first house had the cheap 8lb stuff the builder put down and it felt flat and crunchy within a week, while the second house I used 6lb rebond and it stayed soft and bouncy even on the stairs. My knees also felt way better after 400 yards on the rebond. Any of you all stick with one pad weight no matter the carpet, or do you switch it up based on the room?
The stairs really do tell you everything, that's where cheap pad gives up first. I keep 6lb rebond on the truck for most jobs now, only drop to the cheap stuff when a builder is pinching pennies and doesn't care how it feels in a year. Your knees know the truth before your brain does after a long day.
