Old school installers told me to never use seaming tape on stairs, then I watched a guy do it and it held for 5 years
My mentor swore seaming tape would fail on any step within a year, but I saw a crew in Denver use it on a curved staircase and it looked perfect after half a decade, so who's actually right about this?

Yeah tape on stairs is all about prep and heat. I've had tape fail on straight runs because the subfloor wasn't bone dry or the temps were too low when I laid it. A curved staircase in Denver though, that's a dry climate win right there.

Girl I FEEL you on that. Prep is EVERYTHING and honestly I've had tape lift on me in humid weather before and it drove me nuts. Denver's dry air is a TOTAL game changer for adhesive work, I bet that curve held like a dream. Your story gives me hope for my own tricky staircase project - I've been scared to try tape on it.
