My kicker tool broke mid-job last Friday in Denver
Was installing a 12x15 carpet in a basement and the kicker head snapped right off the base. Had to finish with a knee kicker and it took twice as long. Anyone else had a tool fail at the worst possible time?

Two years ago in Phoenix I had a brand new Crain kicker snap on me during a 16x20 commercial glue down. The metal just cracked right at the weld point and I was stuck in a half-finished office lobby with no backup. My helper had to drive 45 minutes to grab my old beat up one from the shop while I sat there staring at wrinkles. That whole job was a disaster from start to finish honestly.

I read somewhere that Crain had a whole batch of kickers around that time with bad welds, like they rushed production or something. Youre def not the only one who got stuck with a dud, heard a few other guys saying the same thing online. Sucks when you cant even trust brand new tools.
