Found out most carpet seams blow out because of bad glue, not bad seams

I was at a supply house last Tuesday picking up some tack strip and got talking to an old timer who's been doing floors since the 80s. He told me he's pulled up hundreds of failed seams over the years and maybe 10 percent were actually a seam issue. The rest was either cheap spray adhesive or not letting the glue tack up long enough. I thought he was exaggerating so I looked up some manufacturer data from a CRI bulletin and sure enough they say the same thing. Made me rethink my whole install process honestly. How many of you are still using the cheap cans from Home Depot instead of a pressure roller and proper seam sealer?

Cheap glue makers want you blaming the seam tape not their product.

Buddy of mine had a whole hallway lift up because he skimped on glue.
