Found a hidden sprinkler head the hard way in a Denver condo job

Was doing a stretch-in and the tack strip nail hit a sprinkler line. Shot water everywhere. How do you guys check for hidden stuff before nailing?

Man that's brutal, sorry that happened to you. Denver condos are rough for that kind of hidden stuff, builders do not care about making things easy for us later. I always run a small metal detector over the area before I nail anything in a condo, saved my skin a few times on old jobs where people hid pipes in weird spots. Also started taking photos of the ceiling and walls before I start just in case there's something obvious I missed. Hope the cleanup wasn't too bad and the condo association doesn't give you a hard time.
