Stubbornly stuck with my old framing nailer for years until a job in Denver forced a change
My old pneumatic nailer was a beast, but it weighed a ton and the hose was always in the way. On a big Denver spec home project, the foreman handed me his cordless model to try for a day. I put up 40 sheets of sheathing with it and my shoulder didn't feel like it was going to fall off at the end of the shift. The freedom of movement and lack of compressor noise was a total game changer. Anyone else make a switch like that and find it hard to go back?

Man, my buddy had the same thing happen. His corded sawzall died mid-cut on a roof, so he borrowed a battery one. He said the lack of a cord getting tangled up changed everything for him. Now his old one just collects dust in the garage.

Did the weight difference really hit you that hard with the sheathing? I always figured a few pounds wouldn't matter much when you're already hauling lumber and gear around all day. Curious if you noticed a big change in your speed or just less exhaustion at quitting time.
