Overheard a GC trashing scribe work, had to bite my tongue
Tbh, I was picking up supplies at the lumber yard in Tacoma and heard some GC telling his apprentice that scribing is for guys who can't measure twice. That got under my skin. Scribing a crooked wall in an old house at 2200 Bainbridge Ave took me 45 minutes, but it fit like a glove and that GC's crew would've stuffed shims and called it a day. Has anyone else dealt with guys who think speed matters more than a clean, seamless joint?
